She is the Co-producer and Co-host of The Onco'Zine Brief, a nationally syndicated radio program about cancer, cancer diagnostics, and treatment, Associate Editor of ADC Review | Journal of Antibody-drug Conjugates a peer reviewed journal focusing on targeted therapies in oncology and hematology.

With a solid background medical, pharma and life science, Hofland is the current Publisher and Executive Editor of the online journal Onco'Zine, The Onco'Zine Brief, a weekly nationally and internationally syndicated radio program about cancer, cancer diagnostics, and treatment, ADC Review | Journal of Antibody-drug Conjugates, a peer reviewed journal focusing on targeted therapies in oncology and hematology, and co-writer and producer of Changing Strategies in the War on Cancer, discussing the current state of cancer treatment.

An independent medical journalist providing insight, perspective, and transparency into issues, trends, and controversies in oncology. He is currently editor-at-large of Onco’Zine, The Onco'Zine Brief and special correspondent for MedPage Today. Formerly a special correspondent for Oncology Times, and senior correspondent and news director for Vital Option International's nationally syndicated The Group Room cancer talk-radio show, Rosenthal is known for its balance providing perspective and context.


The Program

Each week, Peter Hofland, Ph.D and Sonia Portillo host of The Onco’Zine Brief. They interview a Key Opinion Leader, Expert, Policy Maker or a Business Leader, discussing the latest developments in the ‘War on Cancer.’

Each program includes a short overview of the latest news about cancer and cancer treatment.  This is followed by a 20-30-minute interview with a Key Opinion Leader/Expert or a company representative.

Meeting Coverage

During large society meetings, including the annual meetings of the American Society of Hematology (ASH), American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO), European Cancer Conference (ECCO), European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), a special early edition and a series meeting focused interviews will be produced. Where possible, these special editions may include panel discussions with KOLs and Experts.

Distribution

The Onco’Zine Brief is distributed by Inpress Media Group via PRX | Public Radio Exchange. Separate editions will be developed for KFNX (Phoenix, AZ) and iHeart Talk Radio. In Europe the program is distributed via UK Health Radio / UKHR.  Finally, The Onco’Zine Brief is available via Apple iTunes and Google Play Music.

Based on the currently available data, the program reaches between 2 and 3 million listeners on a monthly basis (see demographics below).

PRX | Public Radio Exchange

PRX | Public Radio Exchange is a US based public radio network.  Individual radio station throughout the United States can select the show for broadcast for broadcast. Average audience totals are available for a number of markets.

  • Average around 259,000+ weekly listeners;
  • 61% are college graduates;
  • 79% are professionals and executives;
  • 65% have a household income exceeding $100,000+

KFNX (Phoenix, AZ)

Known as Independent Talk 1100 KFNX this station is one of the top 10 Radio Stations in Arizona (with over 50,000 weekly listeners). KFNX has one of the largest signals of any Phoenix Radio Station with 50,000 watts reaching almost 5 million people throughout Arizona from Sedona to Tucson and Yuma to Globe.

  • Average around 200,000+ unique listeners per month;
  • Over 65% of KFNX-listeners are aged between 25 and 54;
  • Average a 43-57% split between female and male.

UK Health Radio | UKHR

UK Health Radio | UKHR is a UK-based radio network focusing on health. With a global reach, UK Health Radio | UKHR brings national and international programs to health conscious listeners interested in a  truly wide range of health and wellness topics. The demographics for UK Health Radio | UKHR are:

  • Average around 250,000+ unique listeners per month;
  • Over 70% of our listeners are aged between 25 and 54;
  • 42% is past the current retirement age for males;
  • Average a 70-30% split between female and male.

iHeart Radio

iHeartRadio is a free audio streaming service with over 200 channels of news, music and talk. and many more. It’s easy to use and best of all, it’s free. The Onco'Zine Brief on iHeart is featured among iHeart Radio's weekly interview and discussion programs.

Additional distribution

The Onco'Zine Brief is also available as a downloadable podcast. Data of distribution via Apple iTunes, Google Play Music, Spreaker, TuneIn and other podcast networks will be made available as soon as this information becomes available.

Syndication

In addition to current distribution and syndication, InPress Media Group will sign additional syndication/distribution contracts with radio stations in San Francisco, New York and Chicago, Seattle, and Atlanta. In addition, a number of public radio stations, including Southwest Public Radio and others, are broadcasting the program and/or distribute the program via their online networks.

Promotion

The Onco'Zine Brief is promoted via frequent press releases and social media (including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Xing, etc.).

Online

The producers of The Onco’Zine Brief also publishing the online journal Onco’Zine.  The combination of online, broadcast and podcast offers a broad audience. In addition, some program elements in The Onco’Zine Brief may receive additional coverage beyond radio.
